Home Improvement Chain HOBO Going Out Of Business

It was announced a couple of days ago that HOBO, a home improvement chain in the Chicago region would go out of business and close all locations by December. These closing while small in the way will be a big hit since most of these stores operate in Hispanic communities with very little other options for Home Improvement stores. Let's take a look at there locations:

Waukegan:2650 Belvidere Road-Opened in the 90's replacing a Builders Square
Situation: This closing will leave another big vacant space in the same shopping center with the old Venture/Pick N Save/Antique Mall still vacant as well,

Forest Park-7360 West Roosevelt Road-Former Venture/Kmart
Situation:Open just last year and sign a 10 year lease which will clearly not be finished. I don't have photos with this store as a HOBO but as a Kmart

Villa Park-300 West North Avenue-Relocated from JCPenney Outlet/Ames to take over the old Robert Hall/Kmart space. This will clearly be a big hit as it anchors the NorthPark Mall but I dought it will mean the death of the mall due to the 5 Star Swap Mart.

The Rest of the Locations I don't have pictures of but I'll still tell you about

Oak Lawn-8716 South Cicero Avenue-Replaced a Value City Department Store and will leave a big vacant space but I expect it will get filled
Cresthill-1693 Plainfield Road-Very Old Location, this will defiantly by far have trouble to get filled by someone else
Milwaukee Wisconsin-3545 South 27th Street-Part of a unfinished Super Kmart construction site but since it's in a thriving section of town, this will get filled pretty quickly
West Allis Wisconsin-800 South 108th Street-By Far the most confusing HOBO store, it's in most of an area used by industrial space so I'll not expect it to get filled by retail but more industrial
