Kmart and Sears stores sold to U-Haul

U-Haul has made a deal with Sears Holdings to buy 13 stores for 62 million both opened or closed. Here's the list of stores effective:                                                                                                                3115 Airport Way-Fairbanks, Alaska (Sears)
308 Dix Avenue-Queensbury, New York (Kmart)
2875 Santa Maria Way-Santa Maria, California (Kmart)
4110 East Sprague Avenue-Spokane, Washington (Kmart)
5909 East State Street-Rockford, Illinois (Kmart)
20777 Bear Valley Road-Apply Valley, California (Kmart)
200 Irwin Avenue-Fort Walton Beach, Florida (Kmart)
1805 East Stone Drive-Kingsport, Tennessee (Kmart)
3250 Clear Lake Road-Springfield, Illinois (Kmart)
996 West View Park Drive-Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Kmart)
1309 North High Street-Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin (Kmart)
  17850 Frazho Road-Roseville Michigan (Kmart)
1705 South Main Street-Roswell, New Mexico (Kmart)

I'm a little shock that locations that are still opened are being sold to U-Haul. Also, the Fort Atkinson Kmart location has been closed since January 2014 and yet they still own that which I thought was strange.
Thanks for reading, more is on the way here on Midwest Retail!

  1. "I'm a little shock that locations that are still opened are being sold to U-Haul" That's the worst of this! I mean it's one thing if the place already closed, but to force out an operating store, especially in some communities where this is all they have is a bit underhanded! U-Haul isn't going to help the community like Kmart did when they took over for Grants, or Venture, etc! Kmart sold a variety of things, all U-Haul is going to do is be an indoor storage facility, you can't get groceries or clothes from them like you could at Kmart!
