A Super Kmart with a sad story.

Today on Midwest Retail, we'll be talking about an unfortunate story, not the Syria thing, a just sad story for a Super Kmart. San Jose, California. Super Kmart had one time 8 stores in California. California residents and even the government hated Super Kmart. I know this a not a Midwest retail problem but it's is. In the Midwest, we really liked Super Kmart so hearing this, it's was difficult to understand. The Super Kmart in San Jose was hated when it first opened in October of 1997. Residents and even city council members boycotted the store and wanted everyone to boycott the store for there wages. This boycott got national attention and a full on protost. California wasn't the first state that hated Super Kmart due to the wages. A employee at the Norfork Kmart was afraid when they would opened the Super Kmart, they would try to hire unexpirence workers just so Kmart would pay them less. This employee happened to be working for the retailer for a long time. So, in 2003, it was announced that the Super Kmart in San Jose would close. In fact, the past was pretty much forgotten at that point and they were fitting into the area well. But on August 26, 2004, a Walmart opened drawing not boycott things at all, yet give employess worser benefits and lower wages. In fact, they were the store was packed with shopping and still continues to sadly do well today. It's was a sad story for a store only lasting 6 years in the area. Here's the store in 2002, 5 monts before it closed.

Let me know down in the commets how you feel about this sad story.
