Shopko Hometown-Mauston Wisconsin-Store Closing February 2018

Today, we get to look at a soon to be closing Shopko Hometown in Mauston, Wisconsin. This location opened on October 2nd, 2015 on a site of a former Marathon Gas Station. It was recently announced as one of the 39 stores to close in February 2019. Lets take a look at this store from March 2018.
 The Mauston Dam

 The Shopko Hometown Store

 Pharmacy Drive Thru

Right as your enter the store

You can easily see how everything is squished into a small space

 Payless Shoesoure Section

Health and Beauty/ What else do I see?

The Pharmacy closed, I should mention that the Pharmacy was added a year later in November 2016 from a view on Google Streetview. As you can tell, the Pharmacy failed and it closed. A clear sign of struggling business.

The Checkouts and Shopko Hometown Pantry in the distance

 The Fitting Rooms

It is clear this store was an under preforming store as we saw, that's cause there's a Kmart in town which Mauston is very small so that's why this Shopko Hometown struggled. I do hope somebody takes that location and turns into something cause Mauston in beautiful small town and would deserve it.

Kmart and Sears stores sold to U-Haul

U-Haul has made a deal with Sears Holdings to buy 13 stores for 62 million both opened or closed. Here's the list of stores effective:                                                                                                                3115 Airport Way-Fairbanks, Alaska (Sears)
308 Dix Avenue-Queensbury, New York (Kmart)
2875 Santa Maria Way-Santa Maria, California (Kmart)
4110 East Sprague Avenue-Spokane, Washington (Kmart)
5909 East State Street-Rockford, Illinois (Kmart)
20777 Bear Valley Road-Apply Valley, California (Kmart)
200 Irwin Avenue-Fort Walton Beach, Florida (Kmart)
1805 East Stone Drive-Kingsport, Tennessee (Kmart)
3250 Clear Lake Road-Springfield, Illinois (Kmart)
996 West View Park Drive-Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Kmart)
1309 North High Street-Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin (Kmart)
  17850 Frazho Road-Roseville Michigan (Kmart)
1705 South Main Street-Roswell, New Mexico (Kmart)

I'm a little shock that locations that are still opened are being sold to U-Haul. Also, the Fort Atkinson Kmart location has been closed since January 2014 and yet they still own that which I thought was strange.
Thanks for reading, more is on the way here on Midwest Retail!
