Venture Store #18 opened on 1500 South Elmhurst Road in Mount Prospect Illinois. The store closed in 1998 as a result of there going out of business. Than this location became a Kmart to expanded the Big Kmart concept. The concept was a terrible idea since these stores didn't have Pharmacy's and Garden Centers. The majority of Kmart that closed in 2000 in Illinois were former Ventures except for the one in Chicago. The concept was so much a flop that today only 2 Kmart's stores exist in former Venture. Norridge and Griffin mainly because these stores had Pharmacy's cause they replaced other stores. In 2003, Kohl's decided to relocate from Randhurst Mall to the Former Venture. There were 2 other stores which include Hobby Lobby and True Value. Not much is known about the history of this True Value location. The Hobby Lobby opened in 2001 in part of the former Kmart. However, this Hobby Lobby decided to relocate to Clinton, Iowa. Why they were relocate it so far is crazy to me. To point this out, the Clinton, Iowa store is in part of a former Target that closed on January 31st, 2015. Here the article to the relocated as we start with these pictures.
