The Carson's at Randhurst came to become as Carson's was looking into expanding into the Northwest Suburbs. Later on, Montgomery Ward and Wieboldts joined with Carson's to expand across the Chicago Suburbs and all became part of the Randhurst Corporation. In 1988, Wieboldt's went out of business and the same year became Bergner's. In 1989, Bergner's bought Carson's which they moved Carson's to the Wieboldt's/Bergner's space as JcPenny this time also took over the former Carson's. While the other anchors died and left, Carson's was continuing to do well at the location mainly after Randhurst Village opened. This location was the one I shopped at the most since a lot of times we come down to Des Plaines which is why you see so many pictures from that area. According to a news article, it said that Carson's was Mount Prospect's biggest retailer which that surprises me since there's also a Cotsco in the exact same shopping center. This location still has the feel of Wieboldt's which is kind of nice for people who want to remember Wieboldt's. I'm personally shocked that they didn't change the sign name to just Carson's during the renovation, just like they did in Evergreen Park. Let's start seeing this pictures.
